The Original Is Right
  • The apostles were guided into all truth (John 16:13)
  • It was sufficient to make man righteous (2 Timothy 3:16, 17)
  • It leads men to an eternal inheritance (Acts 20:32)
The gospel is God’s power unto salvation (Romans 1:16).
That power was effective 2,000 years ago and led many to the forgiveness of sins and the hope of heaven (Acts 2:38-42). The same gospel is what we have in the New Testament – it still saves souls.
BUT it can only save souls if it is preached in its original simplicity!
The message of the gospel has been corrupted and perverted by men. It happened in the first century and is still happening today (Galatians 1:6-9). Men believe and practice things not found in God’s word. They twist it to their own destruction (2 Peter 3:16).
Do not fall prey to their pernicious lies!
  • There are MANY false prophets in the world (1 John 4:1)
  • Including those who call Christ Lord (Matthew 7:21-23)
  • Many believe their lies (2 Thessalonians 2:11)

Modern Perversions Of The Gospel

Salvation is by faith only (click to reveal the truth)

James said, “You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only” (James 2:24).

Jesus said, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:16).

Peter told men what to do to be forgiven. “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38).

Paul wrote, “You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace” (Galatians 5:4).

Peter wrote, “Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble” (2 Peter 1:10).

Jesus said some receive the seed of truth, but when “tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles” (Matthew 13:21).

Paul was told, “And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord” (Acts 22:16).

Peter wrote, “There is also an antitype which now saves us – baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Paul wrote that baptism is how we put on Christ. “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ” (Galatians 3:27).
