The Oxen Stumbled

David failed to move the ark according to God’s law and faced the consequences (1 Chron. 13:1-14). He later moved it according to God’s law and found success (1 Chron. 15:1-16:6). The lesson is when the proper order is not followed, there will be problems because “the oxen will stumble.” This principle applies to the work of the church. Sadly, some local churches of Christ, including Concord (NC), do not consult God’s law and follow the proper order. Such things bring shame on the Lord’s people and disgrace the Savior. This lesson lays the foundation of God’s word regarding the work of the church and then details where the Concord church of Christ has transgressed the doctrine of Christ (2 Jn. 9-11).
