In a single chapter of Mark's Gospel, Jesus demonstrates absolute authority over the three greatest enemies of mankind. We watch Him cast a legion of demons out of a tormented man, heal a woman who had suffered for twelve years when no physician could help her, and raise a little girl from the dead with a simple command. Each miracle carries a lesson for us today: Jesus frees us from the shackles of sin, heals our souls through the gospel, and assures us of eternal life beyond the grave. He has all authority — and that demands that we believe what He says.
