The fool has said in his heart there is no God — and organized atheism, humanism, and Marxism have said it loudly for over a century. In this lesson, we survey the rise of these godless philosophies, from Karl Marx’s declaration that religion is the opium of the people to the Humanist Manifestos that reject God, salvation, and life after death. We then tackle the arguments atheists make most often: the problem of evil, the problem of suffering, and the charge that the God of the Old Testament is immoral for commanding the death of innocents. We show that the existence of evil actually proves there is a God, that atheism has no objective moral standard on which to base its complaints, and that atheism’s own track record on innocent life — through abortion and euthanasia — exposes a glaring inconsistency.
