Man was made with an innate desire to worship something larger than himself — but Satan has corrupted that desire from the very beginning. In this opening lesson of our World Religions series, we define what religion is, challenge the popular misconception that all religions are basically teaching the same thing, and survey the current religious landscape with data from the global level down to our own state. We then turn to Christianity — tracing it from Old Testament prophecy through the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, the establishment of the church on the day of Pentecost, its rapid growth, and the New Covenant that governs it today. This series is designed to strengthen our confidence that Christianity is true, demonstrate that other religions are false, and equip us to have meaningful conversations with those who believe and practice differently.
