Romans (3b): chapter 2:12-29

Having a spiritual résumé doesn't guarantee a right standing with God. In Romans 2:12–29, Paul turns his focus squarely on the Jews, who rested on the Law, boasted in God, and were confident they could guide the blind — yet failed to practice what they preached. Their hypocrisy didn't just hurt them; it caused God's name to be blasphemed among the nations. Paul drives the point home by showing that circumcision — the cherished sign of the covenant — means nothing without a transformed life behind it. True circumcision, he says, is "of the heart, in the Spirit." This lesson challenges us to ask an honest question: Is our faith an inward reality that shapes how we live, or just an outward label we wear?
