Members of One Another (5): Receive One Another (part 2)
How do we handle disagreements among brethren when the Bible doesn't draw a clear line? In this lesson, we continue our study of Romans 14 and the challenge of receiving one another when Christians hold different convictions on matters of personal conscience. Not everything in Scripture is black and white, and wisdom, maturity, patience, and love are essential as we work through our differences. We review key principles — don't despise the weak, don't judge the strong, be fully convinced in your own mind, and don't become a stumbling block — then apply them to real-world situations. From the eating of meats offered to idols and the observance of special days in the first century, to modern questions about holiday observances, entertainment choices, and matters of personal appearance, we examine how God's teaching guides us and where tensions between brethren can arise. The goal is learning to distinguish between matters of doctrine and matters of conscience so we can maintain unity without compromising truth.
