World Religions (4): Islam

Islam is one of the fastest-growing religions in the world — and the Bible warns us to be on guard against false prophets and false religions. In this lesson, we trace Islam from Mohammed's claims in seventh-century Arabia through its rapid spread by sword and submission, and examine the two major sects that emerged after his death. We dig into the doctrines of Islam — including the Five Pillars, salvation by meritorious works, and the promise of paradise through jihad — and measure each against what the Bible teaches about grace, salvation, and heaven. We also discuss how Christians should deal with Islam: not with Western culture, patriotism, or compromise, but with the truth of the gospel.
