Romans (13a): chapter 12:3-10

How do you see yourself in the body of Christ? In this study, Paul warns against thinking too highly or too lowly of ourselves and reminds us that there are many members but only one body. We examine the different gifts God has given — prophecy, ministry, teaching, exhortation, giving, leading, and showing mercy — and why every one of them matters. From there, Paul turns to the heart of Christian living: love without hypocrisy. We are not just told to avoid evil but to abhor it, not just to appreciate good but to cling to it. The section closes with a call to kindly affection and brotherly love — giving preference to one another rather than seeking our own honor.
