Paul’s time at Thessalonica was disrupted by conflict (Acts 17:1-10). The enemies of the gospel attacked and the brethren suffered for it, but did not compromise the faith. Because of this, Paul had a deep affection for the saints as is apparent from his praise in 1 Thessalonians 1:2-10.
