Apostolic Authority: A Study of Acts 15
Christians in the first century faced serious challenges to their faith from both external and internal pressures. One of the internal struggles was when false doctrine was introduced. In Acts 15 a false plan of salvation is promoted by some Christians and had to be addressed head on. The debate at Jerusalem was not intended to reveal the truth, but to show the apostles and elders at Jerusalem were all united in the truth, which they clearly declared. This account shows how authority is established.
