Can religious zeal save you if it's not grounded in truth? In this study of Romans 10:1-13, we see Paul praying for the very people who persecuted him, acknowledging that Israel had a passion for God but not according to knowledge. We examine how Israel sought to establish their own righteousness rather than submitting to God's — and how the same mistake plays out today through sincerity-based religion, faith-only doctrine, and denominational practices. We then walk through Paul's argument that God's righteousness comes by faith, that belief and confession are essential to salvation, and what it truly means to "call on the name of the Lord."
